Hi Everyone,

Recently decided to fit new discs, pads and shoes to my 2011 C220 W204 but I'm having trouble with the O/S rear disc.
I stripped down ok and popped in new shoes, installed new springs to hold shoes in place and the springs to pull the shoes together however when attempting to fit new disc it will not slip over new shoes even with the brake adjuster on minimum and parking brake off.
Deffinately correct discs with the same inner diameter as the ones removed but just cannot workout what has gone wrong for disc not to fit.
Pictures to follow...

Wind the knurled nut on the parking brake pads to allow the pads to move in slightly

the shoes do have to be in the right place, few mm out and they will foul the drum part of the disc.

Check the shackle at the bottom where the cable attached. Mine were seized up i cleaned them with a file and greased them to death to get the free and moving when i did mine

Hi all,
Thanks to all for the replies; much appreciated :)
I do not believe the shackle is seized as I can see it operating ok but I think the shackle is the source of the issue and preventing the shoes from sitting flush when disengaged.
I may have damaged the cable maybe when removing the disc as it was a pain to remove and did take some force on the shackle side of the disc.
I've noticed i need to engage the parking brake slightly to pull the shoes tight before they then start to expand.
I'm going to take another look this morning and work on the shackle.
Does anyone know if the cable tension can be adjusted somewhere and where this is done as I checked under rear seats for a service window but could not see anything.

Alot of slack will go once the hubs back on and the shoes are adjusted. Good luck.

Good call Avnt!
Checked over the shackle again and became obvious it was seized so cleaned up and lubricated and manged to get it operating again. Once shoes refitted the disc slid straight over with a nice snug fit.

Many thanks for the assistance :)
