Wife's car as above was showing low tyre pressure via the TPMS. Went to local garage to inflate to be shocked that one of the valves broke off just at the intersection between the threaded end that takes the dust cover and the body. Flat tyre obviously and RAC cannot help. Car trailered to house.

Any one else had this happen? I suspect it's going to be expensive given the sensors are coded.....

There are a few stories of folks having metal aftermarket dust caps which seize on then cause what you describe on removal
You can get aftermarket programmed ones here
https://www.tpmswarehouse.co.uk/
Although it’s worth trying your local MB you might be surprised
Not sure where you are in Scotland but MB Grangemouth offer a forum discount

2 hour wait and when RAC driver called me, he washing to be a further hour by which time all tyre places closed. It was a plastic cap, the valve sheared while the inflation tube was in place. Discovered this morning apart from no having a spare wheel, MB do not provide either a jack or nut wrench.

Has anyone managed to buy a space saver, jack and wrench and get it to fit under the floor of a W205 (C200 sport) estate car?

You can get them on Ebay or try MB Grangemouth. No spare wheel for mine as the well is taken up with the adblue tank.

Thanks Russ, I know I can purchase, my real issue is if I can store beneath the floor of the loading bay. Tom.

The 205 has loads of space, unless it's a diesel with adblue tank.

The supplier of the space saver advises it will not fit.

You can get collapsible space savers too.

Russ
Interesting idea; that's what my SL has. I'll look into that - thanks.
