W205 sunroof not closing properly.

Hi all

I have a 2014 Mercedes Bluetec sport premium (W205) and the sunroof won’t close properly. It goes all the way forward and dips in a bit then stops and goes back slightly leaving the sunroof all the way over but not in place.

anyone got any ideas. I really don’t wanna go to Mercedes, I’ve heard horror stories of £3000 charges to fix a sunroof on a MB.

Open it, then clean and polish it and the surround, then lubricate the mechanism

Didn't work, took it to a guy who deals with sunroofs and convertible roofs and he had a look, cleaned it out and oiled it and it still didn't work. He thinks there's a fault but he didn't have time to have a proper look. He's fully booked up.

From the online manual. I'm not sure its appropriate but it might help. These instructions are also in the app manual.

If the panorama sliding sunroof or the roller sunblinds do not move smoothly, reset the panorama sliding sunroof or the roller sunblinds.

Turn the key to position

or

in the ignition lock.

Pull the

switch repeatedly to the point of resistance in the direction of arrow

until the panorama sliding sunroof is fully closed.

Keep the

switch pulled for an additional second.

Pull the

switch repeatedly in the direction of arrow

until the roller sunblinds are closed.

Keep the

switch pulled for an additional second.

Make sure that the panorama sliding sunroof and the roller sunblinds can be fully opened and closed again.

If this is not the case, repeat the steps above.

unfortunately it didn't work. Looks like I'll have to take it to Mercedes. Thanks anyway.

Any update from Mercedes? I live in fear of sunroof problems after a problem on a Volvo I once owned.

I haven't actually taken it there yet but I know its gonna be a lot. I need my car daily so I'll need a loan car from them (which actually isn't that dear, its only £30 a day) but its going to cost £172 just to look at it!

Is it stuck at the point where it would normally lift into the opening to seal or is urs a different design.. I reefer to w208 clk

Its stuck at the point were it usually dips in at the front and then back drops in and it seals. Instead of doing that it dips in at the front and then pops back out again. There's two clips at the back that push the sunroof down and into place, one of them doesn't move so not sure if one of them is blocked or broke. These videos shows it.

Its stuck at the point were it usually dips in at the front and then back drops in and it seals. Instead of doing that it dips in at the front and then pops back out again. There's two clips at the back that push the sunroof down and into place, one of them doesn't move so not sure if one of them is blocked or broke. These videos shows it.

Hi. I have the same problem. I have managed to strip the sunroof and found the problem. ℹ unfortunately have no idea how i am going to fix it.

Did you finally come right with yours?
