W208 Auto box slip

Changed the ATF a few months ago and the car seemed to behave a lot better, but this morning I seemed to be having a bit of slip when accelerating - especially when the car is cornering. I accelerate hard and the engine revs climb but speed doesn't, after a second or so the car starts to accelerate.

I have read somewhere that this could be low ATF level - that's an easy one I will check tonight as I have the dipstick.

I have also heard that it could be friction plates - how likely is this, how costly is it to put right and can anyone recommend an autobox specialist in Aberdeenshire ??

Are there any otherengine sensors etc... that could cause this to happen.

Check the fluid first then get the fault codes read.

Check the box fluid level at a gearbox temp of 80deg C while engine is running.

The only thing that was making me think that it wasn't fluid level was that it was working fine for the last few months (post oil change).

Will report back on Monday.

My thoughts too,,, loosing drive on a corner does suggest low fluid as the fluid could loose contact with the pump just for those few seconds

I'll make sure to check for leaks, but garage floor is dry. Re the cornering thing Malcolm, I guess that makes sense now that I think about it.

Level checked and all was fine. No signs of a leak either. Any other ideas ??

This must be something amiss with the torque converter or pump. I think it needs to go on STAR

It was genuine MB fluid from the local dealer.
