Anyone advise where i can acccess a W208 CLK wiring diagram for my 99 CLK430 I have an issue with reversing lights and mirror roll down most likely to be the reverse selector switch inside the tiptronic gearbox module and i want to test the feed & output on the 12 wire multi connector
Thanks
Boyd

If you have a copy of WIS they're part of it I think

Thanks for that still looks like the switch in the gearshift module which being tiptronic is different from the earlier ones the switch is in the pcb etc linked to selector position detection someone (possibly in the USA ) had theirs repaired? ( on that link to benzworld above ) so looks like my options are
1 find someone who can repair recon ? a reman outfit ? -have to check this out
2 replace with a new shifter module possibly too expensive given i have bodywork issues on the car that need sorting
3 replace with a second hand shifter but one with a working reverse switch I have one just installed but got exactly the same problem
4 I have checked the wiring across the boot hinge and all ok but maybe check the output to the lights re from the light unit? not sure if this is the elec box unit thats in the boot ? but the harness is on the other side of the boot just wondering is their a module ( SAM ? ) under the rear seats? more investigation required
5 provide a seperate switched 12v feed to the lights at the light module or join into the wiring harness and just operate it manually possibly the cheapest get around but not a proper repair
worth pursuing as i wont be the only one with this problem I know a facebook 208 member in New Zealand has the same problem there must be many others and it will be a growing number
Boyd

PS the brakelight switch replacment is mentioned in the link but i think that when that goes you get more problems / faults than just the reverse lights not working it either locks and wont move (likely ) or goes into limp mode so i dont think its worth changing it although there not that expensive (last time i replaced it )

WIS isn't the most friendly application to use but you can try and see if you can find the wiring diagrams if you have WIS.

Fire it up and put the first three numbers of the VIn in the box next the WDB (or whatever your VIN starts with).
Then select your exact model. You can also enter your full VIN if you want.
Then in the box above the list of areas start typing reverse or back.
Then select the entries that look of interest. In the right side pane it will give you a list of document types. Select circuit diagrams and click search.
The one you want will be the top entry in the bottom pane.

That's it from memory.....
