W208 CLK230 White Smoke

Happy New Year to all firstly.

My CLK 230 has been mis-behaving lately.

Every now and again I notice a large amount (enough of a cloud to cover the car behind me fully) of white smoke coming from the tailpipe of my car. It has happened 5 or 6 times in the last month. 60k miles on the clock.
I have tried to make it happen but have ailed and I cannot figure out when it is happening or why.

I will have it in he garage in a couple of weeks anyway but wanted to get a few opinions before I took it there.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, just read your post about white smoke from your Merc. I own a E230 / 1999 with 65.000 miles. It's happen to me too last week end, big cloud of white smoke as soon i decelerate then accelerate. happened few time on the day but after i check coolant (ok) and top up oil, was little low, never happen again in the last 40 miles of my journey. I tried to make it happen in many way but was fine.
I still worry about it, some said oil seal, or head gasket, or dirty petrol or water in oil.
What was wrong with yours? thanks
