[W208] Snapped Rubber Hose

I was checking the oil level this morning when I noticed a rubber hose had snapped. It's to the left of the engine block (see photos) and there appears to be a small amount of oil in the area.

Would anyone be able to tell me:

1. What's it's for?
2. Can I safely tape it together as a temporary measure?
3. Would it be ok to drive it as far as a mechanic?

Thats just above the supercharger if i am not wrong, its a part of the breather system by the look of it, it will be safe to "tape" up for a temp fix!!

Thank you gentlemen. Is it safe to take to my local indie, or does it need to go to a dealer? The hose is very degraded, and I'd imagine there are a few more like it.

A simple job for anyone to replace!!
