I have been meaning to sort this out since I purchased the car...

Basically the drivers head rest is stuck right at its highest level and will not go down....however when I fold the seat, for someone to get in the back, the head rest goes down automatically, but once the seat is clicked back in place the head rest moves back up and is not able to be moved????

Anyone encountered this problem or have any info?

Sorry nothing listed for this one, the do have a fault memory, and plugging into STAR is the only way to go, unless some one else knows the fault

is it set mechanically or electrically? Normally you press the little catch button and slide it down, unless it's electric and you're saying the button won't drop it. If so, can you hear the motor operating when you try?

Yes, it is electric, every other part of the seat works perfect so maybe it is just the switch

It just seems so unnecessary to pay £60ish to hook up to a STAR when it may be something very cheap...
