W209 headlights abroad

I have a CLK55 with xenon dip beam. The manual says that I should visit my dealer to adjust my headlights for driving in Europe. This, to my mind, is crap.

Qustion. Are the lights switchable with a mechanism in some way or is it a case of some insulation tape to cut off the top of the beam going to the left?
