Hi,
I am toying with stripping down the binnacle and cleaning the contacts for the temp and clock displays as they vary randomly from almost ok to unreadable.
So,
1) any reason I shouldn't attempt this?
and 2) Whats the procedure for removing the binnacle ? (push from behind, need a removal tool?)
oh and 3), aside from disconnecting the battey to avoid upsetting the SRS, is there anything else I should think about?
thanks.

ive done it on previous mercs, it may reset your trip meter, and yes id agree disconnect battery, iv read it on here before somewhere too. not sure bout srs, i fitted a stereo in my and asusual, blew a fuse rushing the wiring, yet after that my srs lite was lit? i later discoerd that hte stereo is on the same fuse as srs (why!!?) and deteced voltage drop, to which i now have to have reset by dealer! ££££££££

i was thinking about taking mine out to fit the chrome bezels you can buy for them, i thought they looked nice. oh, and yes they pull out. no screws
