W210 corrosion recall

Hi All

I've just booked my 1999 E240 in for a replacement rear window regulator and my local dealer (Mercedes Oxford) have told me that while it's in it will have the "door preservation" checked and if necessary repaired in response to cases of door rusting from the inside. I thought I'd share with you so that any other 210 owners can check and see if their car's affected too. I'm quite impressed as the car is now nearly six years old with 73,000 miles and has been serviced by an independent since the last Merc service at 15,000.

Ive got a 98 E240, 113,000, which was serviced by Merc upto 97,000 as its an ex company car. I presume it would have been picked up during servicing??
By the way, what MPG do you get??

I get a fairly consistant 29mpg doing a mixture of dual carriageway and town
