Right - I was at the dealer yesterday regarding an irritating oil level message (oil level fine, but I have to spend £150 getting the pointless sensor replaced, what may I ask was wrong with dipsticks?) and it occurred to me to ask if MB had come up with any solutions to the distinct lack of cup holders in the front of the E320 estate (amongst others I'm sure).

He took my number and promised to get back to me muttering something about thinking there was something for the centre console for about £20.

Had a look on here, did some searching and almost umm, got excited, when I saw http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showpost.php?p=7652&postcount=15 - I have simple needs, and that's one of them - anyone know part numbers, where to buy it etc...?

Incidentally - had some photos taken by the bodyshop regarding rust - wish me luck - start of a rocky road I think...

Looks like the Merc one is cheap....if you can get it :(

Found one HERE for you though.

At least he's got it in stock.

I've just bought one for my 211 from Mercman over ebay. If you can get them for £20 from the dealer I'll be sick! I paid £35 for mine. Then discovered there was carriage (fair enough) and VAT to go on top! Came in closer to £50!
I was chasing them last year and they were going for £70 -£100 which I though daft. £50 is barmy enough. The 210 ones should be a tad cheaper given that the cars are older.

From the dealer they're about £20 ish. The Ebay ones are very expensive.

Beware of spilling drinks down the gear selector.

How bizarre - no-one tell MB or they'll raise their prices!

Just an update - about £24 + VAT from Merc direct. Getting one in for me so I'll have it in the next week or two :)

Well, I called my local dealer. The 211 ones are £53+vat. So, I saved a few quid but not as much as I'd hoped! Just pity the poor sod that paid £100 for one a few months back.
So, a lesson learned, sometimes ebay isn't as cheap as you might think and just because someone is bidding against you doesn't mean they have any more idea what it's worth than you do!
Oddly I sawa a 210 one a few years ago and it's a lot nicer and 'tricker' than the 211 one. Now it's cheaper too!

As Parrot said, do be careful with drinks around the console,I will never use the ones fitted to the SL for that reason.

I have seen some that fit onto the base of the seats (side)
