w210 e230 Central locking - not working automatically.

Can anyone shed any light on possible causes of why the 'central locking automatically engaging when you drive away' feature should stop working ?

You need to re program it.

From memory:
Key in ignition to ignition setting, press lock button on dash.

Voilla.

Tried the 'reprogramming' as mentioned above - did not work.

Any other clues or suggestions please.

I agree with diesel man

Key in ignition on ( engine not running) press and hold lock button for 5 seconds

Switch off , restart and drive away

If this fails take to dealer to pragram PSE locking while driving off

Could also be a faulty PSE pump

Yes - thanks - I think it was the 5 seconds that did the trick.
