Hi guys,

I just sold the interior from the 2001 e320cdi facelift im breaking the chap who has bought the interior wants to fit it to his 1997 pre facelift w210 would this be possible.

The interior in question has both electric front seats with drivers have additional memory option with controls on door card.

The car they need to be fitted to has standard comfort manual operated seats. (not sure if mercs have the electric seat loom already in place)

Could this conversion be carried out and what will be required from the donor car?

Any help or instructions would be very helpfull.

Kind regards

They will fit physically...but the looms are not already there...so he needs the looms from your car.

The door loom as you say...and the loom to each seat at least...there could be more.

When I fitted electric seats to my W202 there was a loom from the seat to the front fuse box and to the back. I'm assuming with memory there will be an additional loom and relay to make all of that work and possibly coding involved of the keys and ECUs so possibly not the cheapest of jobs to do or the easiest.

Seeing that the seats came out of a 2001 car and going in a 1997 210 this could have problems, just like the 202 the updates and changes in the electronics are enormous with so many changes, there is no real SAM or just a tiny one in the early 210's, just like on the 202 cars

Depends if the 97 car has an electronic key or not, if it has the electronic key this means it has door control modules, it would then be possible, but to be honest as the seller of the seats i,m not sure I would want to get involved as it would require different door looms or part looms, and possibly an additional chassis loom.
I have been thinking of this mod myself, but I would want to remove all the looms myself, taking loads of pics and notes, it will be possible but not straight forward.

That would be a very neat mod on a 202 that even Steve Krabbenbourg would be envious of

I thought he had already done it? Though I have looked on his web site it doesnt appear on the list of mods.
The biggest hurdles to get over fitting it in a 202 would be the electric steering column, and fitting the switchpacks in the door cards in such a way as to retain a OEM "feel".
I was thinking of taking it to a good car stereo installer I know and get him to custom fit the switch packs in place of the original ones.
Though I have bit more research to do on it yet.

He's got electric seats, thats a doddle, but memory seats, dont think he has them. He has fitted heated seats in the back though.
