Hi All
I hope someone can put me in the right direction. I have a 2002 W210 E class 320 CDI. I have an intermittent problem with starting the car. When I insert the key, you can hear the steering lock disengaging (so key is recognised by EIS?). When I turn the key clockwise to position one, the red SRS light turns on as normal. When I turn the key to position two or further try to cranking nothing happens. No dash lights (see picture) no crank. On other occasions the car starts as normal.
Does anyone have an idea about how to fix this or what the problem might be? Clearly some electrical naughtiness but what?
