W210 Full beam oroblem

I have a problem with the main beam switch. It does not operate when pushed forwards although the flash function still works. Another thread seemed to suggest that the fault may be with the main light switch rather than with the combination stalk. Any thoughts?

This is still likely to be the stalk at fault

Is it likely that it's a dodgy contact or a new stalk required?

Last one i did, turned out to be the main rotor switch for the lights, will say, fitted a stalk first!!
