Mayday mayday mayday. My d in law's key has come to pieces in her hand (the kids are implicated I think!!). It still starts the car of course, but will not work the central locking. It's in several pieces, one of which is the triangular-ish circuit board which does the business. I have not seen the wreckage myself except on a skype pic during a conversation with my son, who has tried various combinations of attaching the batteries without getting the LED to light up (he knows they should be stacked pos to neg). It appears a bit of metal strip may have gone AWOL.

Does anyone know how the batteries connect to the PCB?

Ah yes. Thanks senjers, but there is one strip missing. Can you remember to what the other connects? This is a pic of the intact one.

Yes, if you look in the circuit board there are 2 copper pads,

One of the strips contacts the central larger pad and the second one is fed through the body and contacts the smaller pad with a hole in it

Many thanks - that is what I was after. I'm miles away from the key at the moment, so can't just have a glance myself, but I'll pass this on and hope they get it sorted.

I wonder if it is still in bits you could help me out and have a look at the one of the chips for the order code, it is the black oblong that is set at an angle parallel to the edge of the triangular part of the circuit board.

The code should be printed in white lettering.

I'm not with the key, which is around 1000 miles north of me, but I'll ask my son if he still has it in bits or has pix. I'll let you know either way.

Just come across this pic of the d-in-law's key which I received at some point over the last day or two. Not sure if it's what you need, and I'm awaiting a reply and new pix from the boy. If not too readable because of compression PM me your address and I'll send the original.
Will be in touch when I have more.

For comparison of an undamaged remote like yours, use full screen and pause to see more detail.

You have A, the short fob
B is the one in the video.
Quite similar PCB boards though.
