Having got the new GPS up and running and installed permanently in the car, I would like to junk the internal ( tinny) speaker within the GPS, and connect to the front speakers, via the output jack on the unit.
Firstly how do you get the radio/cassette out of the dash?
Secondly anyone know the colour codes for the left and right front speaker wires?

Thanks in advance

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
When you wire the carphone to the front speakers, are you then disconnecting the car stereo from those speakers as well?

Is it the standard audio 30 command and do you have two little slots, one each side low down on the radio facia.
The connector is a standard euro. I can look it up if the above is correct

Malcolm.
You cant just put them in parallel with the existing. Your Nav Sat device would not have enough output to drive the car speaker and you cant have both joined up at the same time.
I can give you for Xmas a small phone ex speaker in a nice box you could mount under the dash

For a wiring diagram of the speakers, have a look at the following link
http://www.beckerelectronics.com/1492.html

To remove the unit you need the following keys
MB part number: 000 589 88 63 00
They are quite expensive, about £0.65 + VAT which makes it about 80 Pence

w210 Radio: Speaker connections

Looks like I will have to connect a preamplifier as well, as the GPS system also is an MP3 player as well, and clearly the internal amplifier will not have enough grunt - I would certainly like to connect to the front speakers to use in parallel with radio etc

Dear Dogsbody please do not try and join into the front speakers, if you do you will need a new Radio and MP3 player, you cant just do that. I do not know what radio you have, around 1999 MB went over to Optical inputs for the 6 CD changer. units before this had normal phono's.
If I knew what you had it would help, as you cant just plug in a pre amp either, Do you have the CD changer, A little more info please and I can point you in the right direction.
