W210 sunroof tilt problem

Having finally fixed the opening problem with the sunroof, I now find that it will tilt OK on the button, but it will not close on the button. I have to press the open button, wait until it closes (un-tilts) and start to open, then press the close and it will close OK. Is this a switch or a relay problem, anybody got a link to the relevant circuit diagram.

I have the almost exact same problem. Mine seems to go into a mode whereby only the "open" signals are reacted to. Both "close" signals are ignored.

Purely by chance I found a solution:
Press the button in the "open to tilt" position and after the roof has opened continue to hold the button for a few seconds. I hear and audible click after approx 2 seconds. Then press the button to the "open to rear" position and hold it until the roof has opened and again keep holding for a few second more.

After this, mine seems to work fine. It happens periodically, for no apparent reason, but the fix is quick and easy. In my mind I'm guessing that there is some sort of "position memory" that the electronics forgets about. That could be completely false but it does seem to fit the scenario.

Dec, my car is an E230 which is not shown on that russian site, but the C230 circuit looks as though it has all the right functions, it may be the close from tilt limit that is stuck open, all I have to do is find it.
The Rock, thanks for that, I tried yor method but it is only the close from tilt that's not working.
