Help, Help, oh please help.

My main stealer has no knowledge of this fault so i aint going there to be told new headunit needed, (robbing *******)

My headunit occasionally shuts down, the dash still shows all the functions but the headunit appears to power down.

then amazing as it is powers up and all fine for a short while until it has another funny episode.

This along with the satnav been drastically wrong for example i was staring at Liverpool John Lennon Airport when my SatNav thought i was in Leeds.

I've had a dead battery recently and recharged and all was fine until it went to MB for MOT. not pointing fingers here but it aint the 1st time a new fault has occured after been robbed by them.

A little guidance is greatly appreiciated.

I'll let you know how i get on.

If the sat navi is permenatly wrong then your antena is possibly knackered, not picking up the correct gps signals.

its possible you have a fault with the audio gateway for the head unit fault. this could be as simple as a coding issue, but will have to be fault read and diagnosis with a star.

Some issues can be cured by powering down and rebooting, i.e. pull the fuse for a few seconds. Software update can also fix this. Other than this it will need to go on a star tester.

Fixed

Well i fixed the fault by connecting to star and resetting the computer.

problem fixed and sat nav behaves.

oh the joys of modern technology.

cheers guys.

I have a magnetic mounted aerial on the roof would this have an effect on the fm signal as it is a bit fuzzy but even without aerial it is still a little fuzzy but amplified by the mag-mount

what would be a simple solution without rerouting the aerial.
