Good morning

I have a 2003 W211 E270CDI. A couple of weeks ago the ABS & ESP warning lights came on asking me to visit the workshop because both these functions were not working.

The garage explained that the rear offside ABS ring had disintegrated. The only option available was a new drive shaft at £569 + vat + fitting. The garage also told that the part was on back order with Mercedes suggesting this could be a reasonably common fault - does anyone know if this is the case?

I would be very grateful if anyone could recommend an alternative source for the driveshaft.

Many thanks for your help, it will be much appreciated

You could have used the company in post #3!

But good to know there is another one out there.

Yeah looks like two companies now supply them. Mercedes wanted over £2000 to fix my car and thanks to this thread I have saved an absolute fortune :) Thanks guys!

Even though the company you used isn't in this thread?

A happy ending nonetheless.

Is there a secret to getting the axle shaft out on a S211?
I need to replace (I hope) the ABS ring.

I'm following this instruction set, and currently have a 10Ton hydralic puller on it and it's not shifting.
