W211 Ambient Lighting

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me.
I run a 2003 W211 E500 saloon with the ambient light strips that came with cars specified with a panoramic roof. Annoyingly the left hand light has given up the ghost. It was flickering for a short while and would come back on with a gentle tap.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Is it a bulb or a new unit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the fitting would just pop out with a plastic trim removal tool ?

That's what the underside looks like, looks as if only the reading light is replaceable, but if you drop it down, looks like it pulls down from the middle, you might find you can replace the ambient bulbs to. The part number for the left unit is A2118203701, type it into E bay and you'll find them cheap enough.
