W211 Boot Leaking

I have had problems with water entering the car when parked. The rubber boot seal is intact and appears to be in good condition. I suspect that drainage holes may be blocked but cannot find them. Can anyone tell me how to find the drainage points and also how to clear them?

W211 Boot leaking Part 2

Emptied the boot of all items and thoroughly dried it out. Then left it open to dry in the winter sunshine. Wife wanted to go shopping, so shut the boot. On returning home the boot was 1/2" deep in water again--dry roads and no rain!!?? Must be a reservoir of water somewhere very near the boot that is holding the 'leaked' water. Any ideas?

I had seen you post :D:D but I will not have time until this evening to see if there is anything recorded for this, and I will post back

Thoroughly dried the empty boot before going away on holiday and left the car in the garage with the boot open so as to let it air. On returning home found more water in the bottom of the boot which had obviously seeped out from the box sections of the inner boot. I have never found any evidence of dampness above the floor of the boot - the carpet is alway dry!!??
I really am baffled.

I propose to fold the rear seats down so that I can lie in the boot, inside a dark garage, and to use a bright torch, shining from inside around the top boot seal, and get my wife to see if any light escapes to the outside....beyond this I really am stuck for ideas. Your advice would very much be appreciated.

Hi Malcolm

I had seen a thread on the forum by someone who had sealed their high level brake light. I have tried the 'search' feature but cannot find it. Is it fairly straight forward to remove? Can you possibly send me a link to the relevant thread?
regards

Have tried 3 times to send you a PM but I get a message back saying that your mailbox is full...obviously a busy man!!

I may wish to remove the rear bumper as well as checking the high level light seal. Reading other posts I understand that you may be able to send me the instructions for this. My car is a 2005 saloon.
Thanks again for your help and a happy New Year.
