W211 E-Class - Bike rack on aluminium boot lid

Does anyone know if you can use a bike rack on the aluminium boot of a W211 E-Class saloon?

I have a bike rack that I used on my W203 C-Class, but that had a steel boot lid. The rack 'clips' to the edge of the boot lid with strong straps. The lid on the E-class is aluminium and I don't know if the weight of the bikes (two) will distort the boot lid. Anyone know? Thanks

If it is only held on the edges there should be no problem and long as no weight is on the flat boot panel.

I would pop into mercedes and pick up the accessory book that covers all these things
