w211 e270 fan not working pls help !!!

radiator fan not coming on to cool engine at temp of 100-110 only operating when heater inside is switche on and when heater turned of fan goes of pls help......also when fan runs when heating on it runs at a slower speed wich a assum is correct and fan only runs faaster to cool engine

That needs to go on star, theres many faults could cause this!

it has done mate and heres my concern,,......... code came up and mec told me that he cant do anything and needs to go to dealer (ouch) was told thermal overload spike ecu and thats where im bricking it.... as in ecu damaged... but everything else working fine as in car running other than fan not kicking in.

Crap, book it in with your local indi, get a real fault code and post back!!!

mate unfortunatly im in n.ireland and it agnews in the morning...main dealer fs.... was on diag (at a local garage).... i did ask for the code but the young guy who done it didnt write it down fs im hoping that it maybe fuse/relay or temp sensor.....first merc ive ever had and faced with this :Oops: im thinking the fact ecu seems to working as in car doing wot its meant to apart from fan kickin in indicates fault may be where im hoping... if you were any closer ud a heard me knocking at ur door by now...lol
