Hi I have a question about how the front sidelight bulbs can be removed on my 2007 w211. Everywhere I've looked it's described as a holder below the main beam h7 bulb, and it's supposed to be a T10 or w5w bulb but looking at my setup there is no bulb holder but there is a little black box type arrangement and looking into light from outside there is what looks like a round piece of perspex which lights up a Blue colour when sidelights are on. So if anyone can tell me what type of bulbs I have and how to remove it will be appreciated.

Under the H7 main beam will be a small black holder which you pull out, that is what holds the w5w/t10 bulb.

I hope you have long fingers!

Under the h7 main beam is a little black plastic box held in place by 2 plastic clips and they look very brittle for the life of me I can't see a small black holder for the T10 bulb, I can't even see a bulb when the sidelight is on.

Sorry buddy , mine on my recent thread were bi-xenon bulbs , which are a totally different problem . I don’t think I’ve changed any others on my W211 .

I phoned Manchester mb dealers for a quote on a set of front sidelight bulbs. I have been told my car has no sightlight bulbs, and I need to get car booked in for investigations. Well I decided against that for sure cos it was too costly.
Soon after I came across some pictures online of a Mercedes led module which was an optional extra for the sidelights and this is definitely the lights I have. I have posted some pictures of this module. Looks like no led upgrade for the moment, but thanks for those who tried.

Interesting. I bought a pair of Canbus compatible LEDs and of course they need resistors but will work in parallel with the original incandescent bulbs. I would prefer an OE set, are they a replacement assembly in place of the bulb holder or is the lamp unit different?

Sorry for the late reply. Looks like the led module fits into a made to measure slot, so I would say a bulb holder was never intended to be fitted.
