My 2005 E500 had been in storage for a number of years, and it is now time to start using it or sell it. It has a relatively new battery, which has been conditioned while in storage. Before it went into storage it threw up the odd random fault, but they would always clear. It now intermittently faults on BAS, ESP, etc. Diagnostic indicates a rear left speed sensor fault, but when reset, the live values are all OK and within 1-2mph of each other. I have read other posts stating alternator issues, rectifier issues or a poor ground somewhere. Has anyone had the same issue, and if so what was the fix?

Thanks in advance!

Seems plausible, I had an issue years ago with water getting into the boot, this caused an issue with the GPS antenna, meaning that the satnav didn't work. I will check the ground reference for the SAM.

Could be rust build up on the reluctor rings giving the speed sensor issue - I wouldn’t discount a battery issue though
