W211 Key Fob Failure

Just as I was thinking my car is really running well and nothing is wrong with it I find that my key fob has failed :cry:. I haven't had chance to get to the dealership as yet however I wonder if I can get it fixed under warranty

Malcolm has keyless go which is fine until it goes in the washing machine...

It is a genuine Mercedes Keyfob that I had with the car so it must be under the 3 years unlimited mileage warranty. Perhaps at the last service it was damaged by a trainee during battery replacement.

Malcolm has keyless go which is fine until it goes in the washing machine...

keyless go? very flash! :lol::lol: i dont imagine keys fair much better in the washing machine though!

Looks serious. Quite a rare failure as the fobtronic units are normally very reliable.
I believe driving your car with such a failure could invalidate your warranty so don't risk it, call Mobilio and have it towed in.

The key i have is fine its whats in it thats not working, its not the batteries, its the mechanism.. can we fix it bob? i really hope so....
