W211 rear airmatic shockers

Not sure if this has been covered before but I have a 2005 E320 estate with ridiculously expensive shockers on the rear. They are both shot and I was wondering if I can just replace them with standard ones?

Don’t recall anyone attempting it on here assuming it’s possible. Aerosus are the go to company for air bags for the rear @ circa £150 per side I would imagine MBs prices to be twice+ that

the airbags are fine it’s just the shockers, the suspension goes up and down fine with no leaks and no faults but it’s just really bouncy

I’m a mechanic so will be doing it myself if possible. It’s just the shockers that aren’t working. Everything else works fine

I think it’s due to being SLS in the back that makes the difference in how easy it is to replace.
