W211 tyres

Had some Horace (?) on the rear when I bought it. Got ~24k miles out of them.
Swapped for Kumho KH31, got 14k from them. Then went for Bridgestone Turanza...11k miles.
So sod that, I got some cheap landsails on. Just under 10k on them and they're now showing the wear indicators on them, plus they're very entertaining in the corners with the weather being as it is.

The size is 225/55R16. Car is E220CDi Avant-garde.

Any ideas for a decent replacement, with reasonable grip and good mileage expectation. I'd have thought 20k miles would not be unreasonable as a mileage expectation??

Assuming you are looking after them such as alignment, pressures and avoiding hefty starts etc I’d vote for Michelin and Goodyear perhaps in the form of Michelin Primacy or Goodyear Efficient grip.

These 2 brands give me staggering life and performance in their ultra high performance variants so the above can only be better.

20k on the rear tyres? I'd be ecstatic if I could get that.

I got 28,000 on my rears and they were still at 3mm! Maybe having 4matic helps though.

my W220 is now on its 4th set of tyres from 2004 - 72k miles.

pzero were pants.
Best were dunlop sport max (2 times)... stop making them in the size.
Now on michelin

look on the likes of black circles to get a good overview of specs for your tyre size.

I remember moons ago, talking to my trusted tyre place, I asked whats the difference betweeen budget and premium?
quality, life, safety, were some of the words used - never skimp on a tyre, its what keeps you planted to the road.

You would be stunned to see how many people we get drive straight back out in very flash cars on illegal tyres when they can’t afford new, we don’t have part worn. Even when some have had punctures or damaged that can’t be repaired, they are on their knees calling for help to pay for budget new. It never fails to surprise me how many can’t afford to run a car properly.

6K out the back & 8K out of the front on my FJR1300!

Depends how heavy your right foot is.

In time I may do.
