W211 What does this switch control on gate shifter cover?

I am from across the pond and I was looking at this trim panel that had this switch on it. Whatever it is for, it is NOT an accessory offered in the US. Was hoping someone might shed some light for me on what it's for. Thank you in advance! s-l1600-3.jpg

Think that one is for fuel powered Heater booster, Heated seats are on the dash underneath the radio.

I wonder if it’s the residual heat button in the US? You know the one where , when you switch the engine off and are sitting in the car it uses residual heat built up and releases into the cabin for a while (I think half an hour IIRC)- here it’s marked REST. Might be what Alex suggests though

It's for Auxiliary heater(parking heater).
I have it on my W211.
