W212 E200 2012 Automatic engine stalling

Yesterday when I left the house (engine was warm) as I was about to make right at an intersection, when I let go of the brake so car would move , it jerked back and forth and then engine died
Tried to start it again, same problem , third time the engine worked perfectly until I got to the house.
When I start the engine it makes some kind of rattling , then I put it in either D or R and when I let go of the brake engine dies.
But, if I start the engine multiple times, there’s times where engine starts with no rattling and that’s when I know it will work.
What could cause this? I entered engineering mode and looked at diag codes but there is no code.
( Car is an automatic , 2.2 diesel, has 530k kilometers)

I suspect a torque converter fault.

Can you replicate the stalling in park?

Does it really have 530,000 kilometers?

no, can’t replicate stalling in park

Definitely look at the toque converter then.

frankly ,at those km , i would be careful. chances are you will sort that and something else expensive will let go. unless you plan to do all yrself..
