Over the last few months my airmatic rear suspension has been slowly going down over a few days. When i started the car up it would pump up the correct level quickly and stay at that level. A few weeks ago i started the car up after not using it for a few days and it came up with an error for the suspension on the dash and the air compressor that you can usually hear from outside the car did not kick in.
I put the car into my local garage who thought it was the compressor, so i bought a new compressor and it was fitted and still no pumping. I have also bought new airbags to be fitted as well. The relay has now also been checked and its fine. Next would be the air suspension control unit ECU. Does anyone know where this is located and if its likely to be this? or is there something else we should be looking at?
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Welcome from another Jambo (Wheatfield Stand Block C, row 1 seat 5)!
Hopefully we’re not on cross purposes.
Firstly when you say your local garage thought it was the compressor, has it had a Mercedes Diagnostic?
Relay was my next thought but a proper diagnostic should pinpoint the issue, otherwise you may end up replacing parts on a wild goose chase.....

Thanks John - taking it to a specialist tomorrow so hopefully it becomes more clear what the issue is. Just going to cost a lot more now.

Have you changed the pump relay and checked the fuses , the relay is about £10 from Mercedes and should be changed when the compressor is replaced they are known to fail, it’s located in the engine compartment fuse box

Ps I keep a spare in the car

If you buy a compressor from Arnott they supply a new relay which is essential - just noticed the op said checked not replaced....anyway we'llsoon find out
