W213 E220d Dpf removal

Hi all
l ve 17 plate E220d my nox sensor recently gone and there is none available in dealers including Germany my local dealer said they around 50 customer ordered and paid still waiting. So my question is has anyone hard removed dpf from w213 l am going to removed dpf,egr,adblue and remap any experience owner ?

Hello and welcome,

How do you plan to pass the MOT emissions test and drive in the London ULEZ?
You have a euro 6 compliant car, removing the emissions equipment is illegal and cannot be condoned.
Many many threads of emissions issues on euro 6 vehicles unfortunately :(

Hello and welcome,

How do you plan to pass the MOT emissions test and drive in the London ULEZ?
You have a euro 6 compliant car, removing the emissions equipment is illegal and cannot be condoned.
Many many threads of emissions issues on euro 6 vehicles unfortunately :(
the problem is cant find the genuine part from dealer remap was my first option but just doesn't make sense for me there s blocked dpf and remap will make it cover it up without solving the issue and the car only has 58k miles on it :(

mobil cleaning guys they r using chemicals which damages the ceramic blocks inner tubes worse than the ash it self, proper machine s way to expensive because the way they fitted the filter you need to take half of the engine out

The greens have kicked the crap out of diesel ownership.

Basically they just can't work anymore.
Some might see it as a ploy for everyone to go electric. Thereby saving the planet. :geek:


And the total irony of reducing our C02 output to zero- ish.

Resulting in a shortage of - C02. o_O

And your argument of “how would they know if it’s not visible” doesn’t get around the rules. You could use the same defence for murder… no one saw me so it’s fine…:shock:

Take it to an independent garage to get it cleaned. Get a proper quote first rather than just assuming.

Presence or lack of DPF is easily detected. Aside from visible smoke the exhaust becomes sooty.

Irrespective, it's illegal. Just as removing catalytic converters is illegal.

OP, find another solution, do not remove or tamper with emissions systems.

if a car was built with a DPF it must be present and functioning correctly to pass a UK MOT.... the test includes thoroughly inspecting DFP canister for cutting or welding

Why does the main dealer need to fit them?


the only ones to fit are NOx sensors version 3.... maybe not main dealer but the THREE software updates need online xentry - and very few non main dealers have this STAR reading is OK I believe

software updates are

1) Parts update for each specific vehicle (so they will now list and thus sell you V3 sensors)
2) Engine ECU update
3) SCR update (Selective Catalytic Reduction - part of the ad blue setup)
plus reset of vehicle adaptions
