hi,
today when i opened the car to enter it, the aluminium door sill fell out, literally, on the ground, i was taken aback as i've cleaned the car many times and never noticed that it was loose. So anyway, I looked at it and i see that where it sat there was an underside rubber or plastic thing that it molds into, but i don't see how it was held in place. I want to re-fit it obviously, but i'm not sure how, there appears to be nothing holding it in place.

can someone explain to me how it's held in place exactly ? i'll post some photos tomorrow...

cheers
niall

That's my experience too, these thigs are usually held on by double sided sticky tape, it also explains how they come off so easily.
At least they're easy to re-attach. :D

A 213 is surely still under warranty, so take it to the dealer and get them to do it.

i think it's 2 years here, anyway i got some Pritt stick glue and smudged a fair bit of it on the rubber part, then pushed the aluminum back into place, it's holding fast now and hasn't fallen out yet...but still not impressed with the quality of this component.

There was a problem with mine as well, offside rear (UK) door, but got mercedes to change it. Apparently there was a known problem!
