Is the turbo working at the moment, are you finding it noisy.
Please put up a picture of the turbo with the oil feed pipe and oil return pipe showing.
Thanks

I had a problem with the oil going through the turbo seals due to the turbo oil return pipe being clogged, av sent off the turbo to midland turbo to get refurbished but the return pipe is still an issue at the moment. I asked the mechanic to try and clean out the pipe, will see how he got on. But my question is still unanswered.
Can the turbo oil return pipe be taken out without taking the engine out, according to the mechanic the engine needs to come out for it to be replaced, and thats a big job with alot of money to be spent just to replace a small pipe.

al get some pics when i get over to the garage.

Mileage is 98000 its serviced on time everytime. It was serviced about 2k miles ago before the car randomly started chucking heavy smoke out which led to this problem being diagnosed. It ran out of warranty last year september‍♂️

I would be concerned as to what debris has blocked the pipe, did the Indie mention where the blockage debris is from?

These engines are overly complex and congested, but on the exhaust side less so. But I can't answer the original question sorry.

a return off the turbo is usually a braided hose about 12" long that goes straight back to the sump and if the tubby is already off , why is it apparently so hard to remove ? why its blocked would be more concern as mentioned earlier

O.K. It is 100 in this diagram

It must go down to the sump. Looks at least 4mm wide.
I would just pour some flushing oil into and see if that unblocks it.
Then do an oil and oil filter change.

Smart + others :)

I’m pretty sure it can be removed without taking engine out, especially now the turbos off. Cheap oils can sludge an engine up.

If it's cheap oil sludge than it becomes reasonable to believe the engine needs a good clean to prevent reoccurrence.
Personally I'm not a fan of flushing agents as they tend to move the problem not cure it.

They might as well rod the pipe with a wire of sorts and hope for the best if all they are going to do is a very basic clean.
