    Hi

I have a w212 2015 e350 amg sport with 4pot front calipers the ones where bolts are on show, I’m looking to fit a bigger caliper as currently the calipers look too small under my 19inch wheels

Does anyone know would calipers from a w213, pic below for on to my w212 If so what would I need, I’m not to sure going the e63 calipers as discs can get expensive any help would be appreciated

Blast from the past on the thread front!

Anybody any thoughts on a fix for this?

I’ve got a nearly new set of 360mm discs and calipers from a sport option 213 and am looking to fit them to my 212.

The caliper mounting bolt spacing is different by about 10mm, an adapter or some professional welding required to resolve it methinks. They will not just bolt on unfortunately

Thoughts are, either fit the proper parts or DON’T DO IT. Messing with the braking system is a quick way to end up very messily dead.

I hear what you’re saying but I’ve been upgrading braking systems for a while.

Yes, you need to exercise appropriate caution, brakes being ‘mission critical’ but as long as you do so it can be done.

i would be upgrading from a Mercedes system, to a later, much higher specification Mercedes system after all.

315mm disc to 360mm disc, single pot bog basic TRW caliper to 4 pot forged Brembo’s, worth doing if it can be safely done

Sure, point being “safely”. Hearing the words “welding” and “adapters” where braking systems are concerned has me running for the hills.

I use coded welders (certified for work on north sea oil equipment, nuclear power stations, submarines etc etc) who know their onions, the weld is stronger than the original casting.
There’s unlikely to be enough space for an adapter, a properly CNC’d adapter is again plenty strong enough however.

I’d hope there would be a W212 Hub with the correct spacing but that’s not the case

    :)

I’m using coded welders at work for all three of the things you mention, and I’m not exactly enthralled by their quality to say the least. I certainly wouldn’t take any of their work that hadn’t been extensively X- ray inspected. Which is exactly what I’m having to do at every step, funnily enough.

I had all mine X-Ray'd and NDT - don't mess around (twice) with pressure systems...:(
