Hi fir those who missed the first part the dashboard said "major ELP fault visit workshop" and promptly cut out. It restarts upon turning the ignition on and off and the fault code was "Rail pressure monitoring pressure exceeded" I had a second hand lift pump fitted couple years ago which was slightly different (it had a sensor in) but it has worked fine, there's just this occasional cutting out at high ambient temperatures. Anybody help please?

Doesnt mean the fuel filter is your issue though!

Yours could be down to worn injectors, have a leak off and quantity correction test done.

Are you saying the new injectors fitted by Mercedes at great expense are faulty?

Thats exactly what I'm saying and without testing them, you wont know!

It wont be the first time I have had a part fail after a short time or even straight out of the box!

Always do a full diagnosis right from the start, saves you going around in circles.
