Why are you running on heavy duty reinforced tyres, the recommendation is 98 not 101 XL which are for people carriers, mine runs on RS3 and 28 frony 30 rear for a fully loaded car, no hashle with any of the suspension setting or speed even continetal speeds.

Thanks Paul. See my reply to Botus, what you say makes sense and I guess the tyre rating could contribute to the problem too...

Good point Botus - the 101 /XL tyres were on the car when I bought it. I agree, probably not necessary and would certainly make the ride stiffer. Thanks :)
If you'd also said runflats......

Now John, let me guess: 'Awesomely B****y Complicated'... 'Absolutely Baffling Configuration'...? :-D
More like ‘A holes...Ballcocks....clunts ‘:p or at least that’s what you want to shout at it sometimes !

Interestingly I took the 230 to my local MOST man (who is a respected Audi/VW/Seat/Skoda indy) and we were chatting about ABC struts. Turns out he has a source of seals for them and has rebuilt one a while back. Hmmmm......

I don't suppose there was ever a resolution to this? I have exactly the same issue that I'm desperate to fix, but nothing has worked.

Has the car been on Star? My S class had an episode a while back with the suspension stiffening up.
It turned out to be a bad connection on one of the angle sensors under the bonnet. A quick clean and
the magic ride returned.
It goes without saying that I would never have found the problem without the diagnostics.

Might be worth starting a separate new thread buddy
