Just bought a neat S350 W221 (2008 model), l love everything about the car save for the steering wheel. Is it possible to switch it with a modern looking steering wheel? If it is, which steering wheel should l look for??

Would greatly appreciate any pictures of anyone who has done this before.

Without swapping out modules between the two it’s very difficult to retrofit a newer wheel.
Maybe consider having your re trimmed, it might help with the look

Go for the wooden-inlay type. I really much prefer mine to the full-leather option on the 221.

One alternative would be to look at the different steering wheels that fit your car. Here you go:

Cross reference against the 216 CL, which used many 221 components- here’s the 216’s steering wheels in its AMG form:

Thank you very much for the information, very much appreciated. I'm looking at the 216 option, if it works out I'll let you all know.
