Hi fellow Mercedes owners! I have a question for our more mechanically experienced friends: How is the hand brake adjusted on a W245? Is it on the callipers or is it under the car somewhere? Any guidance would be gratefully received!!

Many thanks, Dave

There are manual adjusters for the brake shoes which can be got at with a screwdriver through the rear bolt holes once the wheels are removed.
The cable adjustment is above the rear axle. There is a 10 mill locknut which needs to be cracked first

In the picture below you can just about see a spring and a cog next to it, you need to turn this to tighten it or loosen it, but you'll have to do it with the rear disc in place so you won't be able to see it.

Once the disc was in place I just shown an led light into the bolt hole and turned the disc until I cold see the cog, then used a flat head screw driver to turn the cog until the disc would not turn, after this i undid it by 2 flicks until the disec could turn freely.

My previous thread of changing the rear disc & pads.

Hope this helps
