Hello, I have W251 R Class 320, 2006 VIN WDC2510222A011080
Recently wipers stopped working but after restart they were working again, and after a day I had different fault.

Gearbox would not select gear and car would not move. I switched off, switched on, would not move, afetr 3 times Off ON, it worked again, but wiper would not work at all.
I have checked ECU with Icarsoft , there was no faults relating to wipers, and if I switch stalk, it reflects on diagnostic tool as ON.

I have checked all fuses, relays all seem ok. However the signal coming from front SAM module to relay is constantly 7v, irregards to stalk position. SAM looks like new.
If I put a link instead of relay, wipers would work, and the speed setting would work as well.

The wipers will only work with the bonnet closed. Maybe check the switch in the latch is working. They are known to be troublesome on the w212 E class

Try the spare key on its own.

why is key bunch relevant
Because if there is significant weight on the key it can loose connection to the EIS even though it's in the slot
