W447 , 2019 , 2.1 diesel .
No issues then all of a sudden I have no throttle at all . The dash lights up with the wavy road sign , notifies me its inop and to see owners manual .
After 5 mins of off and on ignition this clears and I have throttle .
The check engine light remains on but goes off overnight .

I had the van into a reliable local independent diagnostics guy . His machine is saying accelerator pedal intermittent fault - no other faults present .
I replaced the pedal with a second hand one from a breakers on ebay ( because I'm too tight to buy a new one :) )
Anyway , 20 miles later it did the same thing at the exact instant I re set the trip computer .

Obviously I've not got any option other than to buy a brand new pedal now , just to eliminate . Has anyone had similar issues ?

Throttle and accelerator should not be used interchangeably, they aren't the same thing.

Assuming we really are talking about the accelerator pedal, why no other option?
What are the chances of another pedal, even if second hand having exactly the same fault Pretty slim I'd say. What about the bits between the pedal and ECU, wiring and connectors? And I don't mean just replace them. I'm sure the code would have given some further information, ie which of the two sensors, open/short/plausibility fail? That would help understand what to check. Pedals aren't complicated, check the supplies, check the grounds and signals. If your guy really is that good he should be capable of testing properly. Just plugging in a reading codes is just step 1.

Cheers Supernoodle ,
yeah , I was thinking it was unlikely that both accelerator pedals would do the same thing .
The data was that it was a known fault , and specifically the accelerator pedal assembly . Ok , I'll need to check the pins now and a few other things .
I thought I'd post on the forum in the hope that someone had a similar fault or experience .
