Hi folks, anyone up to speed with engine control diagnostics?
My Vito was running perfectly, no warnings or fault codes, but had a bit of "black death" building up around the no.2 injector. I took it all apart, cleaned everything, put it back together and it now runs great with no leak.
But......
I now have the EML on and stored code P2150, which according to my Launch Pro diagnostics is "power supply injector Group B short circuit to ground". Other variations of this fault code are listed on the internet as "Injector Group B voltage low" and "Injector Bank 2 circuit voltage out of range".
I can reset the fault code (either with engine running or stopped), start the engine immediately - before the ECU powers down - and all is good. The fault/code does not return whilst driving. However, if I wait with the ignition off for long enough that the ECU fully powers-down, the code re-appears instantly. The ECU seems to be picking up a fault whilst carrying out it's POST (Power On Self Test) cycle.
I have checked the voltages at the injector harness plugs (plugs disconnected, ignition on) and cylinders 1, 2, 3 & 4 all have 2.54v on the left (tall) pin, but the right (short) pin on cylinder 2 is showing 2.88v, whilst 1, 3 & 4 are all 0v.
I did have to use a second battery with jump leads to get it re-started after doing the injector seal, but surely the system ought to be designed to cope with this? I really don't want to condemn the ECU as that will undoubtedly be "arm & a leg" money, but it's looking that way......
Anyone offer any help please?
