I'm looking for some tyres to replace my Pirelli P6000 on my 1985 W126 500 SEC, which is fitted with 16" Brabus Monoblock IV alloys.

I've come across some tyres called Wanli S1099, but the only info I can find on the net is that they are constantly called "Ultra high performance" and have a directional tread of a style similar to GoodYear's Eagle F1.

Anyone heard of them, and know where I can get some more info? They are available for £66 fitted opposed to £110 for the P6000.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Found their web site..........

http://www.wanlitire.com/

One problem -its in Chinese.

If it was me, I would stick to a more reputable brand, that is untill Wanli has a bit more history -they could be the next Yokohama for all I know.
Best wishes

Hi,

I have just been running a E200K Hire Car that was fitted with Wanli tyres and I have to say that they were awful in the wet or damp.....felt as if you were driving on ice most of the time.

Its the most times that I have had the back end of a car step out just going around slow speed corners......scary stuff!

They were also very noisy.........they hummed quite badly at motorway speeds.

On my E220 CDi Advantgarde I replaced the Goodyear Eagles with Falken's (Japanese)at a much cheaper price and was impressed with the grip in both the wet and dry.

Not sure where you are based, but Micheldever tyres near Basingstoke are the most competitive tyre company I know..........tel 01962-774437

I am a taxi driver with a E300td and i have tried lots of tyres in the past even remouds  .
Now I only use wanli tyres at £61 each, at first they did slip in the wet but after they scrubed in they were great exept the road noise, but for a taxi that dose more town work than motorway I can live with it because of the long life and milage. :D
