Want to add ipod connectivity to a 2008/9 W211

My W211 has a bluetooth iPhone 3 cradle with the Media cable coming out the top. The car is fitted with the Audio 20 head unit and has no aux input or CDC player, though it does have the CDC button. Pressing the button one or pressing and holding just says No CDC.

I was wondering if something the following iPod Control Unit would work with this head unit and iPhone cradle, assuming I purchased the appropriate cables too or would some form of reprogramming be required to allow the head unit to work with this?

Don't really want to go down the route of a replacement head unit or to wire in the faux aux in via the CD player inputs on the mother board. Any help appreciated.
