Wanted Fully Synthetic ATF at Trade Price

I have to change ATF in my 420se and have decided to use fully synthetic.

Need 10 Ltrs. Mobil 1, Castrol etc would be acceptable. if the price is reasonable.

Your'e going to use Mobil1 in your gearbox? Would it not be better to use the proper MB ATF fluid that is designed for the job?

Mb recommendation for the 722.3 AT is Dexron 2D. This spec is years old and the updated fluid is Dexron 3. Synthetic ATF has a better spec than Dexron 3 and is compatable. Synthetic ATF is a better fluid to use but is more expencive at about £8 per Ltr as against Dexron 3 at about £2 per Ltr. I am looking for the best protection for my AT because to have one rebuilt is about £1500. Using synthetic ATF would seem to be cheap insurance against a AT rebuild.

Mobil 1 product line includes a sythetic ATF, Castrol also produce synthetic ATF. as do Red Line and others All I want is a good product at the cheapest price possible.

Hi Bill,

I use Red Line D4. Dexron 4 and all lower specs covered. It's expensive but you recover the cost with extra mileage. I purchased from Demon Tweeks (01978 664466)
