I already own a W107 but would love to buy a W114/W115 in good/very good condition. Would prefer the 280CE version, but not too fussed.

Love the look of the old mercs and especially the oblong headlights.

Does anyone know anyone that is selling a good one (I have a good budget)! or any websites that I can see any?

They seem to be really rare, or are they just not good cars?

There are two on ebay at the moment (220's) if I remember rightly, but they are both manual boxes. I can drive both, but I thought MB did not make good manual boxes!

Any help or info would be appreciated.

You will need to wait a while for a good one. They have gone through the period where the value of the cars have not made them worth repairing when things have gone wrong and few are left.

It is worth waiting for a good one.

Merc specialists or a classic auction may be the way forward or look in the back of the Mercedes Enthusiast magazine.

I agree with you, I think the best looking of all of the Merc saloons.

Good luck!

I have seen one on a classic car website (250 CE) in black, but has no pictures! I emailed the chap who said he did not have a digital camera.

I am quite interested in it, but am not sure what questions to ask when I phone up, as am not familiar with these cars.

I have emailed the chap with loads of questions, and he has responded to most of them.

He wants £7K for it - says the bodywork and drive are immaculate.

Does anyone on this forum own one, or who could help me please?

I would imagine the only areas for concern on those cars is the body work, rust underneather etc. Its the same engine I have in my 250se and they are really good. The only thing I know of that can give trouble on them is the injection pumps if they are left idle for ages, but if used regually the engine should be trouble free. £7k is alot of money for that in my opinion, so for that you would expect a low, documented milage aswell as it being 'immaculate' as he says. best thing is go and have a good look and drive if its not too far from you
