Hi all,
My 2017 c250d has had 5 sets of discs and pads in the 2 years I have owned it. MB replace them under warranty but can’t say why the discs are warping every few thousand miles. The car is an MB approved car and apparently been known to them since being registered, so has never had any accident damage. Any ideas why this is happening??
Thanks.

Hello and welcome,

Please don't take this the wrong way but I'd suggest it is the way you're using the brakes. I was getting >60k out of disks on the E classes I've had.
I put a set of brakes on my SLK when I got it as there was an MOT failure brake imbalance. I've done nearly 50K miles since and still on same discs and pads and the 280 SLK is known for having only just adequate front discs :(

If it was the way I drove it don’t you not think I would have changed my driving style after 5 sets at £500 a set. I drive my car like a limousine, smooth and steady. But thanks anyway.

It’s a design fault not your driving , my old 2015 c class had 3 sets of front disks and needed another when it left me ! The disks are pressed onto the hub so are 2 pieces and yes they warp like crazy best advice is get rid of the w205. Google it there loads of reviews / story’s out there and I know at least 2 people on this forum that had their disks changed under warranty

I cannot belive that MB would not have rectified this and constantly still putting out defective parts.

Never had an issue on my w205.

Just had my front discs & pads replaced on the E350CDi at 59K miles, first set of discs & quite surprisingly first pads as well.
I have never had a warped disc in 55 years of driving.

The only 'warped' discs I've had were pattern discs I fitted to my Senator many many moons ago ... hence I now generally fit OE discs. There's a difference between warped & "disc thickness variation" though the end result is basically the same.

5 sets!! Wow. I’m amazed they’ve done it that many times… Does it go away for a while then come back? Do you use the hold function?

According to my local, they’ve had to replace all four alloys to cure the issue.

Member had the same problem over on the other forum , and he also had fitted 3 sets of new discs, and pads . His only cure was 2 new alloys and tyres and another pair of discs .problem fixed . You do need to check the run out on the existing discs and wheels . Google search might take you to the forum post and read it yourself.Something like 70 post before it was cured .
