Warrantee

Hi all, Ive just bought a 2009 R230 Sports Edition Mercedes SL500, which has 'patchy' service history. I am wondering if I can do anything to get a Warrantee and also would I be eligable for the 30 year (I seem to remember something about this) bodywork warrantee. I have it booked into a good (Williams Mercedes, Romford) indi Mercedes specialist for a B service but am wondering if I should take it to a Main dealer Mercedes for my first service and see what they say. Im not a big fan of main dealers as Ive been ripped off before by one, not Mercedes may I add.

Opps, Couple of others points
1.Im also thinking of getting a wind deflector but according the Merc at Lakeside parts department they don't do them? Any thoughts on where to get them and what make.
2. I would like some boot and cabin luggage, any recomendations.

Overall no warranty is going to pay out more than it costs otherwise warranty companies would be going out of business all over the place.

No one in a main dealer will know anything about an R230 as the techs will still have been in primary school when they came out…

Find a decent Mercedes Specialist Indie, have them go over it and get a war chest together in case something goes wrong.

Best thing is putting it on a battery conditioner when not using it, gumi-pfledge all the rubber seals and using it as much as possible.

As for the 30yr warranty it won’t cover any of the bodywork issues R203’s can suffer from.

Winds deflectors came with them but a few owners took them out, lost them or sold them on - eBay is where to look.

Get any soft luggage - I use Montrose off-shore bags in my SLK

As regards the audio, if you want streaming and calls (and even apple / android auto you'll need a news unti ( you cueent one is still worth some money though....)
